Touch screen, 2007

I was thinking about a world exhibition happening simultaniously with one title.

5 artists from different backgrounds with work about the same subject presenting their work at their base country. For example, one in South America, Caribbean, US, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia etc. Each taking place at a local gallery. Each gallery is presenting all the artis, only one is actual there in person with their piece. Because this happening is around the world some have to have their opening mid-night or early in the morning.

A camera is installed in front of each work and because of the internet it is broadcasted in the other countries by being projected. Basically there will be just one 'real' work at each gallery while people can watch the other projected works.

The Title would be something like VOGUE BODY.

I would present a performance piece called 'Touch screen'. This piece consists out of a streched white screen, you cannot see through it or see anything behind it. When people touch the screen (getting the hint from the title) something (me) will touch them back. The more they touch the more body surface they get to touch. This intimate act will be filmed from the top and side ways covered by a frame around the screen. Working like a voyeur. (This piece is performed in 2007 at Maria Kapel in Hoorn, The Netherlands) People in other countries are then the voyeur who will be judging the activities of the act.

It would be nice if Marc Jacobs dares to participate between artists, he would show clothes in the States. Otherwise I would choose Cindy Sherman with her amazing transformations

Mario A. will show pictures in Europe

Santiago Sierra a performance piece in Mexico

Yayoi Kusama vanished between the dots in Japan

I would do my performance in the Caribbean

It would be an experimental but exciting opening of an exhibition. With the feeling of new year (because people will count down to launch it online). Everything is possible and we all are everywhere at the same time doing the same things attending the same event.
